VIP Juniors Festival Results

This season VIP Juniors sent two teams to the 2007 Volleyball Festival in Reno, NV. Once Regionals were finished in April, the VIP 18-Festival and VIP 16-Festival teams took a couple of weeks off before starting practices with their new look. Both teams absorbed new players to our club as their respective teams were finished for the season. Over the next 1 1/2 months they fund raised, practiced hard, played in the Columbia Juniors Pre-Festival Tournament and finished their season competing with over 9,000 other players from North America at the Largest Annual Sporting Event in the World!

This VIP 18-Festival team made a name for themselves early in their tournament. After playing against numerous top-8 seeded teams during the week, this team showed their true heart by being the first team to take a set from the future champion of Volleyball Festival, Orange County Nike. Not feeling like their goals were met, the 18's team continued to play hard, work together, and surprise other nationally competitive teams.

Congratulations to the VIP 18-Festival Team for accomplishing one of the highest Evergreen Region finishes in the 18's Division - 11th place (out of 93) in the 2007 Volleyball Festival! Sweet 16 Baby!!

The VIP 16-Festival team was a bit more adventurous than our 18's team. They drove to Volleyball Festival in an RV - long trip, lots of memories, and a BIG thanks to our driver and RV donor!

After the RV trip down to Reno the 16-Festival team got down to business. Playing in the PM Wave of Festival, the 16's got the night shift of play, sometimes not finishing until 10:30 pm!! They played many tough teams and worked hard to finish 89th out of 188 teams. They even got to play (and beat) a team from Puerto Rico!!
